Finding your MAC address

A MAC address (also known as a Wi-Fi address, physical address, or Ethernet ID) always has 6 pairs of characters with a dash or colon between them (for example: 00-1a-22-3c-dd-5e).


To get the MAC address for a(n):

  • Apple iOS device: Go to Settings > General > About > Wi-Fi Address 
  • Android phone or tablet: Go to Settings > About (device) > Status > Phone MAC address
    • Setting > Connections > WiFi> click on Gear next to connected wifi name > View More > Change Mac Address (Randomised) to Phone Mac
  • Windows Phone or tablet: Go to Settings > About > More Info > MAC addres
  • Windows PC: Go to Settings > Networks and Internet > WiFi > Click on connected WiFi > Scroll to Physical Address
